At Newness of Life we encourage everyone to participate in the avenues God has laid before us to help us grow spiritually.
Prayer
The mission of the Prayer Ministry is to help connect people to Christ through prayer. The Prayer Ministry aims to teach and lead the church in both individual and corporate prayer. We will not seek our own will through our own efforts but we will humbly come before God with a repentant heart seeking His will. We submit to Jesus Christ as the Head of the church and will strive to obey His command that His church should be called a House of Prayer.Isaiah 56:7b “…For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
Sunday School
Sunday Church school is based upon scriptural references found in Deuteronomy 31:12-13. It reads as such, “Gather the people together, men and women and little ones, and the stranger who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn to fear the Lord your God and carefully observe all the words of this law, and that their children, who have not known it, may hear and learn to fear the Lord your God as long as you live in the land which you crossed the Jordan to possess” (NKJV). Reading, memorizing, and meditating upon the word of God are of no value without obedience to the Word of God. To obey the Word of God, you do what the Word of God indicates should be done in any situation. Obedience to the Word of God is the only way that the child of God can be pleasing to God in the new life.
Youth
The Youth Ministry is comprised of committed and trained youth ministry leaders who have been called to positively impact the spiritual lives of the youth of the church and the community. The Youth Ministry seeks to ensure that the youth of the church are integrated into ministry while still maintaining their unique perspective. The Youth Ministry acknowledges that only through an open relationship with the adult members of the church can the mission of the church and the vision of the pastor be successfully attained. This is an exciting ministry that is always growing. The goal of the ministry is to be a thriving year round ministry which includes but not limited to, Bible study, summer programs and outings, Vacation Bible School, and Sunday Bible study.
Bible Study
Bible study is the foundation of effective Christian education. Through teaching, the Bible Study Ministry seeks to efficiently equip believers to grow spiritually and develop into mature followers of Christ. Although bible study attendance is a prerequisite for the spiritual development of the congregation, it is a requirement for all associate ministers, deacons, trustees, and ministry leaders.
Community Service
Every ministry should grow through healthy outreach and evangelism, therefore it is our goal to work with every ministry to grow and participate to this end. It's not only "what we are, but what we do." "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Rm. 5:8).
